Phase I Construction Update
July 30, 2013
All major painting completed on walls and ceilings. Painters doing touchup work now. All epoxy floors in lab areas are finished. The Welding Technology lab has been painted except for the floors. Workers are finishing up installing the Camfill Farr Gold Series Air Pollution Control unit in the welding lab mezzanine.
Working have begun installing new overhead doors for all the shop areas. The doors and roof are finished on the Welding Technology storage building; soffits and fascia to follow. Work continues on the project's air handling system.Cabinets and countertops are coming in for the shops; furniture is coming in for the new faculty offices on the second floor as well as the new, multiuse classrooms; faculty office space is 85 percent complete. A new camera security system will be installed in the shop areas.
A sizeable final punch list of little things—locks, glass, doors, ceiling tile, etc.—will be completed as the project heads into the home stretch. Everything is moving forward on schedule. Kudos to Shaw-Lundquist, the contractor, for their excellent work.
