Dr. Hutchins started teaching at Dakota County Technical College in January 2018, and has been working in the veterinary industry since 2004. Although her focus is primarily small animal medicine, Dr. Hutchins has worked with all types of animals from hamsters to horses.
She graduated from the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical College in 2010 and has worked at several small animal clinics around the greater Twin Cities metro area. Dr Hutchins worked as the Resident Veterinarian and taught in the veterinary technology program at Minnesota School of Business for 3 years until the school closed. She found teaching to be extremely rewarding and was excited for the opportunity to teach again at a great school like DCTC.
Dr. Hutchins currently lives in Roseville, MN with her cat Evie and a tank full of “fancy” guppies. In her free time, Dr. Hutchins likes to stay active and enjoys kayaking, rock climbing, swimming, and has been doing obstacle course training at a local gym inspired by the show “American Ninja Warrior”.
