Jean Carson is a health careers instructor in the Practical Nursing program. She began teaching at DCTC in fall semester 2001.
Jean has a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Bethel College. She also has her public health certification.
Her industry experience includes medical/surgery, orthopedic and obstetrical nursing plus staff development.
Regarding her teaching philosophy, Jean says, "Because technology in medicine is changing so rapidly, I believe nurses must be lifelong learners. My goal is to bring current industry knowledge to my students, helping them to understand that nursing is both an art and a science."
Her students and coworkers are the best part of her job as a DCTC instructor.
Her hobbies include travel, bike riding, camping, reading and gardening.
