Margaret Milne is a full-time English and humanities instructor in the General Education department. She has 18 years of experience teaching at a college level.
Over time, Margaret has attended 11 colleges and universities. She earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing from Minnesota State University Mankato. She has a Master of Arts degree in English from the University of South Dakota and a bachelor's degree in individualized studies from the State University of New York. Her other majors include law enforcement, chemistry, general science and management. Margaret explains that this does not reflect a lack of focus, but rather a variety of interests and a love of learning.
Margaret has presented at many local and international writing conferences, including the Bouchercon World Mystery Convention and Mayhem in the Midlands.
She has numerous published works, such as:
“My teaching experience has prepared me to deal with a wide range of reading and writing abilities,” Margaret said about her teaching philosophy. “I use collaborative learning strategies and a learner-centered teaching approach tailored to my students’ differing skill levels and interests.”
When she’s not teaching, Margaret enjoys reading, writing, skiing, bike riding, running, traveling and spending time with her three cats and dog.
