Kujala, Patricia

Patricia Kujala is a practical nursing instructor. She began teaching at DCTC in 1988 and was named the 2012 DCTC Instructor of the Year.

Patricia completed the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at Winona State University in May of 2010. Her dissertation is titled Exploring Cognition as an Outcome of the Implementation of a Walking Guideline Among Elderly Women. Patricia also has her Master of Science in nursing education from Winona State University. A certified public health nurse, she earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Metropolitan State University.

Her industry experience includes time working in long-term care and acute care. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

"My teaching philosophy is that faculty facilitate student learning and treat students as adult learners," she states.

The best part of her job as a DCTC instructor is making a difference in the lives of her students.
