Major Description
Executive Assistant: This program teaches the expertise needed for creating and editing documents, spreadsheets, databases, electronic presentations and Internet navigation research. This is the ideal major for people in the workforce looking for a challenge or ways to advance their careers.
Administrative Assistant: This program prepares students for employment in administrative support. Students use computer systems for document processing and file management tasks. Administrative assistants may be called upon to communicate, organize, coordinate, and integrate data.
Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS)
DCTC offers courses that prepare students for the Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) certification exam. MCAS credential validates skills in using Microsoft Office 2010 meeting the demand for the most up-to-date skills on the latest Microsoft technologies.
Program Prerequisite
- Students must take a two-minute typing test before enrolling in DescriptionOFFC 1005 Keyboarding/Formatting Keyboarding/Formatting. Students must achieve a speed of 35 words per minute with five or fewer errors to be admitted to the course.
OFFC 1005 This course covers basic formatting for business documents, including letters, memos, reports, and tables. Straight-copy skill development for speed and accuracy will also be included. Prerequisites: A typing speed of 35 words per minute with five or fewer errors
