DCTC Students Compete at SkillsUSA National Conference
Traveling as part of the SkillsUSA Minnesota delegation, a contingent of Dakota County Technical College students, faculty and staff had a marvelous time at the SkillsUSA 44th Annual National Leadership and Skills Conference held June 23-27 in Kansas City, Mo.
Dakota County's Got Talent: Calling All Contestants
This year's Septemberfest, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 13–14, 2008, will serve as a magnet for droves of talented people within range of Dakota County Technical College.
Service-Learning Project Unites Community
Last winter, the SkillsUSA Chapter at Dakota County Technical College was selected by Lowe's Companies to receive a SkillsUSA Lowe's Community Service Grant. The Lowe's Charitable and Educational Foundation awarded 10 service grants of up to $10,000 to SkillsUSA high schools and colleges across the country.
Medical Careers Students and Professionals Benefit from Expanded Curriculum
The Health and Human Services department at Dakota County Technical College is offering two new courses: First Responder and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). The First Responder course will be offered in summer and fall semesters 2008. The EMT course will begin in fall semester 2008.
New Soccer Complex Underway
On May 8, 2008, at the annual Campus Focus event in the Dakota Room, Dr. Ron Thomas, the president of Dakota County Technical College, announced that DCTC has formed a partnership with the city of Rosemount to build a soccer complex on the college's Rosemount campus.
