The financial aid award year at Dakota County Technical College consists of fall semester, spring semester, and summer session.
Summer session financial aid eligibility is initially based on the amount of unused financial aid from the previous fall and spring semesters.
If you are a continuing Dakota County Technical College student and you received an award letter for the current award year for fall or spring semester, you will receive a summer award letter after you register for summer session courses.
The college will send summer session award notices to students via email beginning April 15. If you register after this date, a summer session award notice will be sent to you via email approximately one week after you register for summer courses. This award notice email will instruct you on how you may view your summer financial aid award on the college eServices site.
If you are a student who is new to Dakota County Technical College for the summer session, you will need to complete the current award year Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Make sure you include the Dakota County Technical College school code of 010402 on the FAFSA.
After you have registered for summer session courses, you MUST contact the Enrollment Services Financial Aid Help Desk at 651-423-8299 or finaid@dctc.edu to notify our staff of your intent to make use of the financial aid programs for the summer session. The Student Service staff will then work with you to complete your financial aid record, which will allow the college to generate a summer session financial aid award for you.
A summer session financial aid award notice will then be sent to you via email approximately one week after your financial aid record is complete. This award notice email will instruct you on how you may view your summer financial aid award on the college eServices site.
Students with questions regarding financial aid should contact their Academic and Financial Aid Advisor in the Enrollment Services Office.
