Faculty Bios
Farniok, Anne
Anne Farniok is an interior design instructor. Anne started teaching at DCTC in 1998 as a full-time temporary faculty member. She became a full-time faculty member in 2007.
Currently conducting her graduate studies in education at the University of Minnesota, Anne has a Bachelor of Science degree in interior design from the U of M.
She has more than 20 years of experience as a professional interior designer, including work in commercial and residential design.
A certified professional with Certified Interior Decorators International, she also has her LEED AP, a credential that represents her knowledge of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Rating System and its application in practice.
A professional member of the International Interior Design Association, the International Interior Design Association, the Network of the Hospitality Industry, and the National Kitchen & Bath Association, she is a past winner of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties Award for work connected to Avecor Cardiovascular.
In 2002, her interior design work on a home in Cobblestone Lake, Apple Valley, was featured in Furnishings Magazine.
Regarding her teaching philosophy, Anne says, "I believe that learning should be an enjoyable experience. I also believe that what you get out of your education is directly related to what you put into your education."
She reports that seeing her students working and succeeding in the field is the best part about her job as a DCTC instructor.
Anne has three children and loves spending time with her family. "I also enjoy camping and traveling," she says.
