Faculty Bios

Jorde, Weston

Weston Jorde is an instructor in the general education curriculum. He began teaching summer online courses at DCTC in 2005. In fall semester 2007, he started teaching English and philosophy on campus.

Weston has a Master of Arts degree in philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He also has a master's degree in teaching from the University of St. Thomas and a bachelor's degree in philosophy and English from Luther College. He traveled to  Bergen, Norway, to take a one-year program for foreign students at the University of Bergen.

Regarding his teaching philosophy, Weston states, "Student growth and development is facilitated greatly by good organization, extensive knowledge of the discipline and the expression of authentic interest on the part of the instructor."

His hobbies and interests include Nordic culture and travel. He also enjoys poetry and film as well as architectural and automotive design.
