Knudson, Robert

Robert L. KnudsonRobert L. Knudson is an electrical construction/general education instructor. He began teaching at DCTC in 1994.

Robert has bachelor's degree in telecommunications management from St. Mary's University. He has an A.S. degree in telecommunications technology from DCTC and an electronics technician diploma from Mankato Area Vocational-Technical Institute, now known as South Central College.

He worked for Unisys for 24 years, starting as a computer hardware technician and later moving up to field engineer.

He won the NASA Award for Computer Maintenance Support during the
Apollo manned moon missions. He also received a Unisys Corporation Service Award as well as two Golden Apple Awards from DCTC.

"I try to put myself in the place of my students," he states, regarding his educational philosophy. "I use a teaching approach that helps them see the relevance in what they are learning to what they will be doing in their new occupation."

Seeing students succeed in class and on the job is the best part of his job as a DCTC instructor.

Robert's hobbies and interests include fishing, gardening, traveling, and attending church groups.
