Loes, Doris

Doris Loes is an accounting careers instructor. She started teaching at DCTC in 1979.

Doris earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.

A certified public accountant since 1983, she has taught as an adjunct instructor at the University of Minnesota, the University of St. Thomas, and Metropolitan State University.

"My philosophy of teaching is to enable students to apply the rules of accounting to many situations by developing their critical thinking skills," she says. "This helps them in both their professional and personal lives."

The best part of her job as a DCTC instructor is teaching skills that allow students to make permanent improvements in their lives through employment in challenging and rewarding careers.

Her hobbies are drawing and painting.
