Otto, Martin

Martin Otto is a real estate property management instructor. He has developed and taught courses in his program since 1997.

Marty has a bachelor's degree in business administration with a minor in psychology. His postgraduate work involves course development, executive coaching and real estate investment analysis.

A real estate broker since 1971, he has been the owner of a real estate company and has worked as a real estate investor. A former chairman of the Minneapolis Board of Realtor's Education Committee, he also served as a real estate sales manager in an office with 87 sales staff.

"Students will learn more easily if they can see how the theory is actually applied in the real world," says Marty, regarding his teaching philosophy. "Of course, it must be fun. If learning isn't fun, what's the point?"

The best part of his job as a DCTC instructor is watching his students get good jobs and make good money. Many become financially independent through real estate investments.

Marty's hobbies and interests include reading, writing, golf and Tai Chi. He also enjoys running, having completed four marathons and numerous half-marathons.
