Charles graduated with a 4.0 grade point average from the Architectural Technology program at Anoka Technical College. Throughout his career, he has taken related college courses at the University of Minnesota College of Architecture and St. Cloud State University.
Before joining the Architectural Technology program at DCTC, Charles accrued 11 years of industry experience in an array of architectural firms. His range of employment includes small, medium and large firms working on primarily commercial projects.
Charles has been a registered architect in the state of Minnesota since 1992. He has collaborated on many architectural projects with other professionals throughout his tenure when not under contract to teach at DCTC.
"My teaching philosophy involves encouraging students to develop drawing skills and knowledge of building construction technology through 'hands-on' activities similar to the type of work done in a real-world job setting," says Charles.
Helping students realize their dream of starting a career in their chosen field of architectural technology is the best part of his job as a DCTC instructor.
His interests and hobbies include boating, gardening and cooking.
