The three-course Certified Manager Test Prep Program at Dakota County Technical College will sharpen your management skills and prepare you to take the CM assessment exams that lead to Certified Manager (CM) certification. Sponsored by the Institute of Certified Professional Managers , the CM Program prepares managers to meet challenges related to technology, globalization, workplace diversity, and more.

Course content blends the traditional management skills of planning, leading, organizing, and controlling with a strong focus on interpersonal skills. Managers will benefit from increased knowledge, self-confidence, and employer recognition, as well as enhanced career opportunities.

Who Should Attend

Managers in all fields and in all industries are candidates for CM certification. Also, students enrolled without business experience may apply as Associate CMs.

Qualifications

Training Schedule

This program can be scheduled and customized to be offered on campus or any time at your place of business for credit or noncredit.

Courses should be taken in consecutive order to derive the most value from the program. ICPM charges separately for each of its examinations and a non-refundable application fee.

Management Skills II: Planning and Organization 3

This course is part 2 of three parts of the process of obtaining certification as a Certified Manager, from the Institute of Certified Professional Managers. Gain knowledge planning and organizing, and apply skills related to planning and strategy, operations management, project management, decision making, team management, organizational structure and human resources management.

Prerequisites: SMGT 2001.

Management Skills III: Leading and Controlling 3

This course is part 3 of three parts of the process of obtaining certification as a Certified Manager, from the Institute of Certified Professional Managers. Gain knowledge leading & controlling, and apply skills related to leadership principles, empowerment and delegation, managing change, conflict and culture, operations control, quality management and financial management.

Prerequisites: SMGT2002.
