Class B CDL Truck Driver Training
In addition to nationally recognized Class A CDL training, DCTC offers regularly scheduled Class B CDL training.
This course qualifies a driver to operate a truck without a trailer, like a dump truck, cement mixer, cement block truck, or truck tractor. Classroom topics cover pre-trip vehicle inspections. Most of the program is hands-on driving experience with an emphasis on safety and competency.
This is an open enrollment course consisting of three 8-hour days and one 2-hour test appointment at the license exam station. Class meets from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during the second week of each month.
Prerequisites:
- Class B CDL permit
- DOT physical examination
- Drug test.
Cost
The cost of the program is $750 per student with a minimum of three students per session. The cost for Wisconsin students is an additional $60.
Program features:
- An individual 12-hour, one-on-one session can be scheduled with our professional instructor for $995.
- Life-long placement service through DCTC Careers Services department
Program includes:
- 24 hours of training in three days, 12 sessions per year
- Manual transmission straight truck (van), dump truck, cement mixer, or automatic passenger bus
- We set your license exam appointment, and you test with our truck and professional instructor
- DCTC certificate of completion, with a success rate exceeding 96%
