TRIO/Upward Bound

Upward Bound Mission

Founded at DCTC in 2003, our Upward Bound program fundamentally prepares select high school students for college enrollment and eventual graduation. Our goal is increasing the number of program participants who earn degrees in postsecondary education.

Student Participation

  • Students receive a monthly stipend during the academic year and summer session. The stipend amount for the academic year is based on attendance at the afterschool program and Saturday workshops.
  • Students have the opportunity to earn ONE HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT for summer session participation with regular attendance and a grade of C or better in their classes.
  • Success in the summer session depends on active participation and consistent attendance.
