Computer Labs (ITC)
Dakota County Technical College has 12 PC and 3 Macintosh computer labs used for instruction. Many special use computers are also available in some instructional labs and classrooms.
In addition to these classrooms, DCTC has an open computer lab that the students have access to anytime during the normal school day. A flextime computer is available for students attending particular self-paced computer courses.
Main Library
The DCTC Library is located on the lower floor, near the center of the building. As well as the normal compliment of books, magazines and resource material, the library has 15 computer stations, both PC and Macintosh based, that are connected to the Internet and have many common software applications loaded on them. These are available for student use during normal library hours.
Instructional Technology Center (ITC)
The ITC is an open computer lab and is available to students for general computer use and Internet access. This lab, equipped with both Macintosh and PC computers, has the software available that is used in many of DCTC's instructional programs. This lab can also be used for scheduled presentations by faculty and staff, as it is equipped with a large screen computer projector.
For those students enrolled in flexible self-paced courses, there are computers available with all the necessary software and a qualified instructor to answer questions and help with getting started.
Other Computer Labs
15 other computer labs are used in the delivery of course instruction throughout the building. Although these labs are usually used by particular programs of instruction, they may be available during times of the days when no classes are scheduled. You will need to check with an instructor from that program area to gain access to these labs. Typically all of these computer labs has Internet access and Microsoft Office software applications.
