Who can use the Writing Center?

A. All students, in any class, may use the Writing Center.

Do I need an appointment?

A. Appointments are strongly recommended. You may be able to walk in and meet with a tutor; however, if a tutor is busy with another student, please schedule an available time slot with the receptionist. For increased time and date availability to you, it is recommended that you schedule your appointments in advance.

What else does the Writing Center do?

A. The Writing Center offers a resource room stocked with English & Writing resources for students, for all skill levels and abilities. Some of what we have includes handouts, books, and software.

Do I have to pay?

A. No, the Writing Center's services are completely free of charge.

What other resources, besides tutors, does the Writing Center have?

A. We provide an online Writing Center web site for students that contains useful resources for classes: www.dctc.edu/writingcenter/.

Who works at the Writing Center?

A. Trained professional tutors as well as trained peer tutors.

When is the Writing Center open?

Monday - Friday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
(We are located in the Learning Center, Room 2-141)

What should I bring to a session?

A. You should bring assignment descriptions, syllabi or other materials related to the assignment, a draft of your assignment, and any questions and concerns.
