DCTC’s Center for Student Success (Room 2-101) provides a place (and a space) where students can find numerous services and resources to help students prepare for and succeed in their career and technical programs.
The Center for Student Success is located in Room 2-101 which is on the college’s second level, far west end above the Library and West Atrium.

Center for Student Success Services
The following are services available to students either at the Center for Student Success (Room 2-101) or through its staff or related programs:
Although no longer a large computer lab, the Center for Student Services does have some PCs and laptop computers available for students to use within the Center. A black and white printer and a color printer are available for student use as well.
Available to all enrolled DCTC students at no cost. The DCTC counselor is available to help students with coping strategies in dealing with a variety of educational, life circumstances and mental health issues and providing information on appropriate community and social services. As of right now this position has not been filled. The counselor will be located in Student Services.
Enrolled DCTC students may be eligible for services if they have a documented disability that significantly limits one or more major life activities. The Center for Student Success staff can provide some assistance to students trying to navigate through D2L/Brightspace – the student portal to their classes, including those that are entirely online. The D2L link above will direct to the D2L login screen as well as access to D2L tutorials.
DCTC in partnership with Open Door, brings the Mobile Pantry to campus every other Thursday to any DCTC student in need of food support.
The freshly-stocked bus provides students and their family healthy, wholesome food. For more information, email your interest and questions to email@example.com, Patrick Lair, Director of Student Success, and located within the Center for Student Success is one of the staff that can meet with students for a Mobile Pantry intake.
Student Success Coaching
Typically available to students who are on Academic Warning, Academic Probation or who are facing suspension. Each student works with a Student Success Coach to develop a plan to support their academic improvement and success. The Center for Student Services can serve as a place for students to study whether at one of our PCs or laptops, laptop stations or study desks/modular chairs. There is also a charging station available for students’ electronic devices.
The Center for Student Success has facilities to handle the administration and proctoring of such tests as ACCUPLACER, TEAS (for nursing students), Technical Skill Assessments, and other web-based, standardized tests. On occasion and, if appropriate, the Center can be used by faculty to proctor tests for individual students. There are also private testing rooms for those students having disabilities that warrant private testing accommodations (see information on Disability Services).
The Student Support Services program provides academic development, advising and success strategies towards graduation. Available to eligible DCTC students who are first-generation, low income, and/or have a disability. The Center for Student Success also serves as DCTC’s Tutoring Center for those students seeking assistance in subject areas such as Accounting, English/Reading/Writing and Mathematics. The TRIO tutor and TRIO computer lab are also located within the Center.
