It's Never Too Late for Success
Why you should never stop believing in yourself
Robert Bergman, a 65-year-old photographer raised in Minneapolis, started shooting and developing his own photos at the age of six. He dropped out of the University of Minnesota to find his way as an offbeat artist and photographer—and went some 45 years without selling a single photograph.
In 2009, all that changed. Bergman, who never doubted the power of his own work, but wondered if it would ever be seen, now has two top-level exhibitions to his credit, one at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and one at P.S.1, an important branch of the Museum of Modern Art located in New York City.
All of us can learn an invaluable lesson from Bergman's story. He followed his own artistic vision even though for decades it brought him no critical or popular acclaim. By believing in himself and never giving up, he eventually made believers out of everyone around him.

Have a sense of humor.
We are attracted to happy, optimistic people. When interacting with a prospective employer, offer a one-liner or clever comment if appropriate. Keep it upbeat.
