2008 Septemberfest Rolling Out the Autumn Joy

Anchored by Dakota County's Got Talent, vintage car & motorcycle shows, and activities & entertainment galore, the popular fall festival will be a free-for-all of fun.
Taking place on the spacious and beautiful grounds of Dakota County Technical College's Rosemount campus, 2008 Septemberfest is a classic weekend community festival destined to attract thousands of visitors from the southern suburbs of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Decked with new events like Dakota County's Got Talent, a talent show open to everyone, and Scholarship in a Haystack, where DCTC students hunt for scholarship medallions in a towering mound of fresh-cut hay, 2008 Septemberfest also features proven crowd-pleasers such as vintage car and motorcycle shows, a dizzying array of arts and crafts exhibits, carnival-style food vendors, a slew of children's activities, dance recitals, hot-air balloon rides, a farmer's market, open-air shopping and musical entertainment.
DCTC faculty and students will offer clinics and demos spotlighting their academic programs, including Concrete & Masonry, Photography, Electrical Lineworker and Graphic Design Technology. The college's Exercise & Sport Science program, Health Services and Student Life will be conducting health and wellness seminars.
Children will feel especially at home with a racecar footrace featuring special guest, NASCAR competitor Molly Rhoads, hands-on kite making, bubble experiments with a visiting scientist and performances by the Teddy Bear Band.
Offering Free Parking & Free Admission at a location only minutes away from the Twin Cities and surrounding suburbs, 2008 Septemberfest is sponsored by all Dakota County Chambers of Commerce as well as by Anchor Bank, Bituminous Roadways, Cub Foods, UPS, SKB Environmental, SPIRE Federal Credit Union, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Lancet Software and Fairview.
