2008 Septemberfest Gears Up for Fun

The popular autumn festival boasts a cornucopia of vendors, activities, exhibits and entertainment, including new events like Dakota County's Got Talent and Scholarship in a Haystack.
Taking place on the spacious and beautiful grounds of Dakota County Technical College's Rosemount campus, 2008 Septemberfest is a classic weekend community festival destined to attract thousands of visitors from the southern suburbs of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Highlighted by new events like Dakota's County's Got Talent, a talent show with an array of dazzling acts, and Scholarship in a Haystack, where DCTC students hunt for $500 scholarship medallions in a towering mound of fresh-cut hay, 2008 Septemberfest also features a host of confirmed crowd-pleasers:
- Vintage car and motorcycle shows
- Baseball clinic featuring former Minnesota Twin Al Newman
- Farmer's market
- A.J. and Molly Rhoads NASCAR display
- Tethered hot-air balloon rides (weather permitting)
- Stagecoach Express (racing semis)
- Dr. Bubbles (bubble making experiments for kids)
- The Kite Professor (hands-on kite making for everyone)
- More than 20 retail vendors
- DCTC program demonstrations

- VCOM: caricatures; photo with life-size presidential candidate cutouts
- Transportation: timed engine assembly; engine running with no oil
