Message from the President

President Ron ThomasWelcome to Dakota County Technical College. Our purpose at DCTC is preparing our students for employment and for life. Our staff and faculty are completely student-oriented. We recognize that our students—with their individual abilities, interests and talents—are the cornerstone of our college.

Our main campus is located in Rosemount, Minn., just 30 minutes from the Twin Cities. We also have two other conveniently located campuses—our Partners in Higher Education site in Apple Valley and our IT Training Center in Eagan.

We serve more than 11,500 students annually at DCTC—withnearly 3,000 students enrolled in credit-based programs and majors, and almost 8,500 enrolled in Customized Training noncredit courses.

DCTC continues to form business and industry partnerships to train our students for skilled professions. Our list of partners is strong and growing, and includes such important names as Amerilab Technologies,Frontier Communications, Rollx Vans, Universal Hospital Services, Foldcraft Company, Northwest Airlines, St. Jude Medical and Urologix—just to name a few.

We work with our business and industry partners to make sure that our students receive the most up-to-date training available so that they graduate from DCTC with the skills and knowledge they need to enter the workforce and succeed in their chosen field.
