Alan Hancock is a Civil Engineering and Land Survey Technology Instructor. He began teaching at DCTC in 2011.
Alan has 29 years of experience in Civil Engineering Technology, and has worked in nearly all aspects of the field. He has worked in the following areas: survey crew including boundary, topographic and construction staking, design using AutoCad from R12 to Civil 3D, inspection, Right of Way, permitting / wetland delineation, bridge inspection, Federal, State, County, City, and Township projects, road research projects, Eminent Domain cases, county ditch projects (agricultural drainage), sanitary sewer, water, & storm sewer projects, and project memorandums.
Alan received his A.A.S. degree in Civil Engineering Technology in 1995 from Saint Cloud Technical College. He also received his Bachelor’s degree from Saint Cloud State University for Land Survey. Alan is a Licensed Land Surveyor as well and owns a small business Hancock Surveying LLC.
Alan's past work experience includes working for the Mille Lacs County Highway Department, City of Columbia Heights, RLK-Kuusisto Engineering, Pioneer Engineering, Pine County Commissioner, North Branch City Councilman, Alan served 9 years in the military US Army Reserve as an Artic Infantry Scout, and the MN Army National Guard.
