Ken Klassen is an instructor in the Heavy Duty Truck Technology program for second-year students. He began teaching at DCTC in August 2008.
Ken graduated from North Dakota State School of Science with a degree in Diesel Technology. He brings 24 years of on-highway truck fleet and dealership experience to DCTC.
He most recently earned the Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician certification through the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. In 2012, Ken led the Heavy Duty Truck Technology program to National Automotive Technician Education Foundation Master Accreditation, the highest level of achievement recognized by the ASE Education Foundation.
Ken is a certified Vehicle Inspector for the state of Minnesota. He is also certified in Air Conditioning Service and Recycling procedures and holds a Class A Commercial Driver¹s License.
Ken's teaching philosophy centers around professionalism. "Give students relevant industry exposure in our classrooms and labs, and enhance their confidence." He says the best part of being a DCTC instructor is working alongside his students and finding them full-time employment. "I also enjoy visiting with our employers to see my students working and being successful. Having that connection with my students after they graduate from DCTC is valuable."
In his free time, Ken golfs, hunts, fishes, and travels.
