Travis Ahlquist is an instructor in the Biomedical Equipment Technology program. Travis began teaching at DCTC in 2012 and brings a wealth of knowledge to the classroom.
Travis has more than eight years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician. He has over seven years experience as a manager of a biomedical department and also worked for several major healthcare systems within the Twin Cities and South Dakota areas.
Travis holds an A.A.S. degree in Electronics Technology, an A.A.S. degree in Biomedical Technology, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. He has also achieved the ICC Certification for the Biomedical Equipment Technician, which is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the biomedical technology field.
When speaking of his teaching philosophy, Travis’ goal is that his students are proud to have graduated from a program that has challenged them.
“Knowing that we are tasked with preparing students to become the best candidates to fulfill the open positions in their career fields is the best part of being an instructor at DCTC,” he explains.
Travis is a member of the Junior Chamber International (JCI or Jaycees). He enjoys camping, travelling, and spending time with his family.
