The ATI TEAS (Test for Essential Academic Skills) is a required test for students submitting application to DCTC's Practical Nursing Diploma degree. The ATI TEAS exam measures basic essential skills in the academic content areas of READING, MATHEMATICS, SCIENCE, and ENGLISH/LANGUAGE USAGE. These entry level skills were deemed important for health science program applicants by a panel of subject matter experts. The TEAS is required of all DCTC Practical Nursing applicants and a score of 60% or higher is needed for acceptance into the program.
ATI TEAS replaces the TEAS V version and is a product of Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI). More information can be found at www.atitesting.com.
ATI TEAS TEST PREPARATION
TEAS PREP CLASS
The TEAS exam has a heavy focus on biology, so this prep class will benefit students who have completed anatomy and physiology coursework, or will be registered for anatomy and physiology in the same semester as they take the TEAS exam.
Students will be required to take an assessment test on Tuesday, September 17th, 2019 or Thursday, September 19th, 2019. The TEAS Prep Class will meet EVERY Tuesday and Thursday from 2-5 p.m. beginning on Tuesday, September 24th, 2019 through Tuesday, November 19th, 2019.
Students will need to purchase the current ATI TEAS Study Manual Sixth Edition for the class.
The registration form must be completed and emailed back to Karianne Loula, Testing Coordinator & Advisor, at email@example.com. Once the registration form has been received, students will receive confirmation that they have a reserved space in the class.
The TEAS study manual streamlines applicants' preparation for the TEAS. This official TEAS resource, written specifically to address the needs of students preparing to take the TEAS, is proven to work.

ATI TEAS Test accommodations
Extended Testing Time
Students can request having a longer period of time to complete the TEAS if they have a documented disability that warrants such an accommodation. Students should contact Mark Schader, Director of Accessibility Services, at firstname.lastname@example.org OR 651-423-8469 to have their accommodation approved and documented. If approved, the nursing director, will set the accommodation at time and a half (1.5) OR double time (2.0) depending upon Anne's recommendation. Students must request these accommodations at least one week in advance.
The ATI TEAS is primarily administered as an online test. However, a paper/pencil version of the test is available to students who have a documented disability and have had this accommodation approved. Students should contact Mark Schader, Director of Accessibility Services, at email@example.com OR 651-423-8469 to have their accommodation approved and documented. If approved, the nursing director will order and have shipped the paper/pencil version. Students must request these accommodations at least one week in advance.
