The Technology Fee helps defray the high cost of keeping pace with technology today. The Student Technology Program is a collaborative program designed to provide DCTC students access to and technical support for technologies of the work force. On campus access will be provided to the Internet, electronic information resources, Macintosh and Windows applications in the Library and the Instructional Technology Center.
Parking/Security Fee — $2.80/credit
The Minnesota Legislature requires each Minnesota State college and university to raise sufficient funds for maintenance of parking lots and entrances to the campuses. The college has attempted to keep the parking fee at a minimum cost to students. Security personnel are on duty Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Friday from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. Security is available to provide escort service to your car from 5-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday. NOTE: This fee is not charged for online courses.
Health Fee — $1/credit
Nursing staff (whose backgrounds and experience vary from Emergency Medical Technician to Emergency Department Nursing with annual recertification in Basic Life Support/First Aid/Safety) provide nursing services at the college. They respond to injuries on campus, administer emergency care, provide first aid, answer health questions, provide routine health care and/or arrange or access referrals to community services as needed. The nursing staff organizes health education and training and administers hearing, vision and blood pressure screening. They work with students, faculty and staff to provide a safe environment for all students. Additionally, the evening security staff are trained in CPR and First Aid and respond to afterhours medical emergencies.
Student Senate/Activity Fee — $7.30/credit
This fee is utilized by the DCTC Student Senate in planning and hosting many events for students throughout the year. In addition, the fee is used to support state-affiliated clubs, program-related organizations and honor societies.
MSCSA (Minnesota State Colleges Student Association) — $0.35/credit
This fee goes to the Minnesota State Community and Technical College Student Association, which provides for statewide leadership conferences and activities on behalf of all technical college students.
