Sexuality and Gender Alliance (SAGA)

SAGA (Sexuality and Gender Alliance) is an alliance of LGBTQ+-identified campus community members from every part of the sexuality and gender spectrums, their allies, and others who are invested in learning about the LGBTQ+ community. SAGA centers students' voices, and is explicitly welcoming of intersectional experiences beyond the bounds of sexuality and gender, including race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, religion, nationality, language proficiency, ability, age, size, and neurotype.

SAGA values acceptance of self, of our community, and each others’ journeys, creates space for community and connection, encourages learning, growth, and openness to new ideas, and, importantly, cultivates joy through space for rest, fun, and making friends.

SAGA enacts these values through the following activities:

On-campus events celebrating the LGBTQ+ community
Weekly meetings for connection with community members
Advocacy initiatives to make DCTC a more equitable, just, and inclusive place for LGBTQ+ students
Initiatives to increase LGBTQ+ visibility and representation on campus
An online presence (Discord server) for idea sharing, resources, offline connection points, and of course, lots of fun memes and photos
