Center for Student Success Services
The following are services available to students either at the Center for Student Success (Room 2-101) or through its staff or related programs:
Although no longer a large computer lab, the Center for Student Services does have some PCs and laptop computers available for students to use within the Center. A black and white printer and a color printer are available for student use as well.
Enrolled DCTC students may be eligible for services if they have a documented disability that significantly limits one or more major life activities. For more information contact Chris Tran, Disability & Access Services Advisor at email@example.com OR 651-423-8217.
The Center for Student Success staff can provide some assistance to students trying to navigate through D2L/Brightspace – the student portal to their classes, including those that are entirely online. The D2L link above will direct to the D2L login screen as well as access to D2L tutorials.
Student Success Coaching
Typically available to students who are on Academic Warning, Academic Probation or who are facing suspension. Each student works with a Student Success Coach to develop a plan to support their academic improvement and success.
The Center for Student Services can serve as a place for students to study whether at one of our PCs or laptops, laptop stations or study desks/modular chairs. There is also a charging station available for students’ electronic devices.
The Center for Student Success has facilities to handle the administration and proctoring of such tests as ACCUPLACER, TEAS (for nursing students), Technical Skill Assessments, and other web-based, standardized tests. On occasion and, if appropriate, the Center can be used by faculty to proctor tests for individual students. There are also private testing rooms for those students having disabilities that warrant private testing accommodations (see information on Disability & Access Services).
The Student Support Services program provides academic development, advising and success strategies towards graduation. Available to eligible DCTC students who are first-generation, low income, and/or have a disability. For more information contact Cori Robinson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 651-423-8514 OR Xuong Tran at Xuong.email@example.com or 651-423-8289. Cori and Xuong's offices are located within Student Services.
The Center for Student Success also serves as DCTC’s Tutoring Center for those students seeking assistance in subject areas such as Accounting, English/Reading/Writing and Mathematics. The TRIO tutor and TRIO computer lab are also located within the Center. The Science tutor is located within the Science Lab (Room 1-305).
