Dakota County Technical College offers two resources for food support on campus: The Lunch Box and the Mobile Food Pantry. Any student in need of food support can utilize the Lunch Box twice per week and the Mobile Pantry once per month.
The Student Life Center provides basic meals to help support students in need of food support. If you are aware of a student who is unable to afford food, please encourage them to visit the Student Life Center and ask about the Lunch Box. Students can utilize the Lunch Box twice per week and pick three items each visit. Visits are confidential. Meal items may include the following:
Macaroni and cheese
Raman Noodle cups
If you would like to contribute to the Lunch Box, we welcome donations of non- perishable, single-serve meal items and plastic forks and spoons.
Dakota County Technical College has partnered with The Open Door, formerly the Eagan & Lakeville Resource Center, to bring the Mobile Pantry to campus. The Mobile Pantry is free for any DCTC student in need of food support. It has no income requirements or residency restrictions. For more information, students can email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the Center for Student Success, Enrollment Services or see an academic advisor. At each visit, students will receive an average of 2 ½ weeks' worth of food which is 70% perishable and wholesome, including the following:
Milk and other dairy products
Students can utilize the Mobile Pantry at Dakota County Technical College or Inver Hills Community College by stopping by the bus on a day listed below. Food is available on a first come first serve basis.
